Creating that Natural, Radiant Complexion

“LESS is always more”

I’ve always been a big advocate on natural beauty and flaunting what your mama gave you – easier said than done, I know. But less is always more. We don’t need to spend 30-45 minutes every day on beating our faces to achieve that “no makeup look” when in reality, you could bake a cake with all the products you used on your face. Which is why, I opt out of the heavy duty products and use mineral makeup instead. With mineral makeup, you allow your skin to breathe, almost like a second layer of skin because it’s so light. You can also build coverage without looking too “cakey” and most of the time it has other benefits, such as sunscreen protection, water resistance, and anti-aging. My personal favourite for mineral makeup is the Colorescience® Pressed Mineral Foundation. It’s a lightweight, hydrating, and protective formula that reveals your smoother, more radiant complexion. This foundation also serves as a sunscreen with SPF 20 and is water resistant (80 minutes), perfect for all the beach lovers out there. Best part is, it doesn’t even feel like you have foundation on your face, so it’s great for all skin types!

On a daily basis, I start off with my Zo Daily Power Defense moisturizer to prep my skin which sets as a base for my makeup. Then, I apply my ultimate favourite primer with sunscreen, Zo Tinted Sunscreen + Primer to help my makeup last longer, protect my skin and reduce the look of pores. After prepping my skin, I use 3 different shades of the Colorescience® Pressed Mineral Foundation to create a natural, radiant, everyday look. First, I use one that is two shades lighter than my skin tone to conceal under the eyes, any discolouration, and any areas I want to pop (bridge of the nose, cheekbones, under the eyebrows). Next, I use one that is two shades darker than my skin tone to contour my face and my eye lids (one thing I can’t live without), especially to create those sculpted, Naomi Campbell cheekbones. Finally, I apply a shade that matches my skin tone to blend the contour and highlight for a natural, flawless look. Voila! A 20 minute look that leaves you feeling fresh, confident, and ready to conquer the day. Remember, LESS is always more!

Stay Beautiful,
