PRP Skin & Scalp Rejuvenation
PRP harnesses your own platelets to stimulate collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, leaving your skin youthful and radiant. This treatment can also be injected to the scalp to promote natural hair growth by rejuvenating aging hair follicles for thicker, healthier hair.
What is PRP?
PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma utilizes the powerful regenerative effects that our own platelet containing growth factors have on stimulating collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid within our skins, transforming it into a healthy radiant and more youthful looking skin
What is PRP Hair Restoration?
PRP injections also help to stimulate new hair growth without surgery or chemicals. Just like our skin, our scalp also ages and the hair follicles start to diminish in number and function.
How does PRP work?
PRP is a concentration of your own platelets from your blood. A small amount of blood is drawn and is spun in a centrifuge to separate the regenerative cells and growth factors. The result is a concentrated healing PRP which is injected into the face and neck to stimulate collagen and elastin productions or scalp to stimulate hair growth.
Because PRP is produced from your own blood there is no risk of an allergic reaction. Platelet Rich Plasma therapy is a safe and non-surgical procedure for facial rejuvenation and hair restoration.
Indications for PRP:
- Sun damaged skin
- Textural damage with dull dry skin
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Thinning hair
- Pigmentation
- Dehydrated skin
- Scarring
- Lack in skin radiance
What to expect during the treatment?
Step 1
Blood collection: Your own blood is drawn, just like when you take blood for tests at the doctor. The site of the venesection is usually a large vein in your inner elbow and up to about 60ml of blood is collected.
Step 2
Centrifuge: The blood is then be spun in a centrifuge to separate the red and white blood cells from the platelet containing plasma; this procedure takes about 10 minutes. The platelet rich plasma is then harvested. Using your own blood ensures no risk of contamination or risk of transmittable diseases.
Step 3
Injection: The platelet rich plasma is superficially injected into the skin or scalp using tiny injections. The Vital Injector can be used to deposit PRP into the skin at precise depth and accuracy for maximum results.
How many treatments do I need?
For the skin:
- 3-6 treatments spaced at 4-6 week intervals.
- Maintenance sessions are recommended every 6 to 12 months after initial treatments.
For scalp:
- 3-6 treatments spaced 1 month apart
- Maintenance sessions are recommended every 6 to 12 months after initial treatments.
What are the results with PRP?
For the skin:
- After just one session you will see PRP plumps and rejuvenates the quality and texture of the skin. It has a great effect on fine lines & wrinkles while tightening & brightening the skin. It is a subtle way to increase collagen that has been damaged or lost through the aging process.
- Results can be long-lasting with maintenance treatment of once or twice annually.
For scalp:
- Your hair can appear fuller within 3 to 4 months as the new hair grows.
- The results are therefore only visible after a few months and you should continue to see improvements as the hair grows.
- For optimal results in patients already demonstrating mild hair loss, treatments with monthly intervals are recommended.
