What is a neuromodulator?

Neuromodulators are a popular non-surgical procedure used to relax dynamic muscles to soften and reduce unwanted signs of aging. These injections therefore appeal to those looking to attain a more youthful and relaxed appearance. Some popular neuromodulator options are Botox and Dysport.

How does neuromodulators work?

Neuromodulators are classified as a schedule 4 medicine and is derived from a bacterium called Clostridium Botulinum. They blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can't contract. That makes the wrinkles relax and soften. This treatment is most often used on forehead lines, crow's feet (lines around the eye), and frown lines. It is important to notice that wrinkles caused by sun damage and gravity will not respond to neuromodulators, this requires collagen stimulating treatments.
